Atkitz is a family-run team founded by Jon (a university academic with a background in computer aided design and 3D printing) and his father-in-law, Alex (an avid O-gauge modeller and railway enthusiast).

For Christmas 2022, Jon designed and 3D printed his first model for Alex - a goods shed based on original plans. Alex and his friends were so impressed with the potential of 3D printing that requests for other models soon started coming in, and Atkitz was born.

We're passionate about providing unique O-gauge structure models that are both affordable and ready for you to make your own. Unlike traditional kits made from flat-packed sheets of wood or plastic, most of our models are produced in vertical sections with the walls already joined as a single piece. No unsightly join lines at corners, brick and block patterns that align perfectly around the whole model, and kits that are much easier to assemble.

Our latest generation 3D printers run at very high resolution (0.08mm between layers), which minimises the layer lines often associated with printed models and giving a professional . We're all about creating highly detailed, unique models that are simple to customise to suit any layout.

All our models are made from PLA - a bioplastic derived from renewable plant-based sources that's easy to glue, paint and customise. In theory, it's also infinitely recyclable. At Atkitz, we reuse any waste to make coasters and other simple items, so you might find one included in your order as a little freebie (subject to availability).

We're always on the lookout for new model ideas and happy to consider one-off projects and commissions. If you'd like to get in touch, just head to our contact page.
